I want to add a part to my website (a prototype still) where users can log on, and have stuff saved, etc. Like on neopets.com, you can log in, save game scores, chat, collect items and when you log in the next day, it's all saved there.

ASp is easy to start user logins and you can save stuff in databases. There are many free forum software on line. You could program the actual games in flash or java.

You could learn PHP (www.php.org), and get an existing open-source program like PHPNuke, then use PHP to modify the code to do what you want. If you learn PHP and read the code of the existing pages, you can make your own.
