I am setting up a dummy account and want to know if someone could hack or trace and find out if that the account was opened on my computer at my house

Not sure im following your question.

Unless your using a corporate version of outllook or something like that with a Read Receipt, there is no way to ever know if somoene opened the email. You could find out if it was deliverd but never opened.

If you made an email and sent it out, yes, it could be tracked back to you. If you did send it out. As opposed to spoofing it from someone elses email. Youd be suprised how much info the emal stores of its original location.

If your doing this from your house then most certaintly it could be tracked back to you... if your using 'your own' computer(s)' for this.

If you use an email client on your computer, like Outlook or Thunderbird, then yeah, probably, when you send an email, it'll have your IP address in it.

If you use a website like GMail or Yahoo Mail, then the emails you send won't have your IP in them, but GMail/Yahoo will know your IP, and could more than likely trace an email back to you if the police or the courts told them to.

If someone were able to see your home network, like if you use WiFi with a home router, they could tell that you were accessing a certain site, though probably not what you were sending. That's assuming they even cared.

if you are sending email from any account, it will have your ip address with it
