I would rather have a female, because I'd feel much more comfortable rather than a male.

But once I had a physical, and there were no more female doctors so I had to get a male doctor, and at first I was scared, but it turned out that my doctor was a really nice guy. :]

But I still prefer female over male, but I wouldn't mind having a male.

I have been to both. However,I now go to a female doctor. The male doctor worked at the same hospital I work at and it was a little awkward meeting him in the halls.I always wondered what he was thinking. And I could never look him in the eyes.
A female doctor knows what you mean when you say"I have cramps".She has experienced cramps and know exactly how you feel. The male doctor only knows you have pain..Yet,both are very knowledgeable in the subject and can take very good care of you.It is a matter of which one you feel more comfortable with..

I personally would rather (and have) go to a female. I'm not a prude or anything, but i think that most females would be more at ease with a woman doctor. I can't imagine a male docotr doing a pap test on me or giving me a breast exam, i might as well bring a bottle of wine.

It's kind of a hard call for me. I'm uncomfortable with either. Men tend to be a little gentler, but it's still hard for me to get past the fact that it's a man. But then again, I think a woman down there is just as wierd. I just try to go to the doctor in the area with the best reputation. When I was living with my mom, I went to a woman. When I moved here, I started going to a male doctor because he had a good reputation. It just all depends I guess.

I personally prefer a female doctor, I have a male doctor whom I see and have a very good repore with, but as far as anything physical i.e. pap smear would prefer a female doctor, if just a physical i.e. for work, I would feel quite comfortable with him so it all depends on you and how comfortable you are with your doctor.

When I was younger, I would prefer a female. After 4 kids and aging, I'm 41, I don't care as long as they are a doctor. No big deal. When doctors see these parts, its just a body part to them.

Female,
NOt that there's anything wrong with a male though.
I'd just feel more comfortable with a female, afterall females bodys are pretty much the same arent they, so they'll understand more i guess!

Female doctors have better insight into female issues so I would always choose a female gynaecologist .. I had my babies with midwives... just depends on personal rapport for general issues there are turkeys and great physicians of both sexes

My general physicals have been with male doctors.

For my Gyn exams, it has always been female.

as long as the male doctor isn't attractive I would be fine with a male. there is something about having an attractive male going south and not being able to enjoy it!!
