I've been a fan (and an alum) for some time. And I predicted the win (to the tune of $50 in a straight=up bet. Not only that, I offered to DOUBLE the bet after OK went ahead on the interception with just 1:02. I knew what Boise State could do!)

At the very least, Boise State should share the championship with Ohio State (if the Buckeyes win) or with Florida (if the Gators completely destroy Ohio State).

A close Gator win? Boise State is the National Champion all by its lonesome.

Much Aloha to Boise State. They proved to the Nation that the WAC can hang with anyone in the NCAA. Boise def. Oklahoma 43-42, Hawaii def. Arizona State 41-24, Nevada loses by 1 point to Miami 21-20 & San Jose State def. New Mexico 20-12. Name me another "Mid-Major" conference that has done that good this bowl season...didn't think so. Should Boise State be National Champs? If Ohio State beats Florida, and Boise were to beat Ohio State, then yeah. But until these clowns decide to have a Playoff, we'll never know. Congratulations to Boise and I look forward to meeting them in Aloha Stadium next season...

Laughed at the notion a month ago. Thought their schedule was weak. (I’m on the Bronco bandwagon now) It's obvious a change in NCAA Div I football has taken place with tougher SAT scores tighter recruiting etc…. The field seems much more level than it was 20 - 30 years ago. QB's from Hawaii & Boise State are as good as any out there. I rate last night’s game w/ BSU vs OU up with battle in Miami nearly 25 years ago when Doug Flutie won the game on a Hail-Mary. I give the Broncos an A+ for creativity, A+ for execution, A+ for entertainment and now most importantly A+ for BCS controversy. We should not hesitate to crown BSU if Ohio State gets beat or at least a Co-National Championship. They (BSU) exemplify the true spirit of champions in college sports in my opinion and deserve a lot more than patronizing top 10 ranking.

They shouldn't be champion, they are a good team obviously, but they had a good game compared to Oklahoma's bad game and still barely won. They deserve a lot more respect but if they do the same thing next year and add a little tougher of a non conference schedule, maybe then they should get a shot. But they didn't play a top 5 team, if it were anyone else, then they would've said it was a good game and been done with it. If they were champs then it takes the incentive from the season. What's the point of a tough non-conference schedule? That's what they were saying when Auburn went undefeated, they were saying well why did they play the citadel. But Boise State is a good team, however I don't think they are a great team. Congratulations on a perfect season though. It doesn't matter what level you are at thats a great accomplishment.

I've lived in the Treasure Valley (valley includes about a 70 mile radius around Boise) my whole life and just withing the last 10 years have started to followthe Broncos. I've been an Oregon Duck fan since I could walk, but have kinda been wavering towards a Bronco the last four or five years - I had to call my brother (a diehard Bronco) the other night to tell him they're darn close to converting me! Easily the most exciting football game I've ever watched, that one! To think they should be champions is stupid, because it won't happen and then you'll only be dissapointed. Hey, who wants to see a Pac-12 division?! Boise and Utah are welcome to join! Heck, we could even keep our pac-10 and kick Stanford and Washington State out.

Boise State had a great year and treated the nation to a very exciting style of football but unless they play and beat the winner of the Ohio State/Florida game they cannot claim the National Championship - it just shows how the BCS system doesn't work!

Boise State deserves at the very least a share of the national title. If Ohio State loses they should be the champs

Boise State should get a share of the title at the very least. No matter if Ohio State or Florida wins the Broncos at least deserve a piece of the pie...

Don't get me wrong Ball St. had a wonderful regular season but they did not play one team in the top 40!! With a schedule like that you don't get a direct shot a National Championship but you should get the chance to earn one. ( continued below. )

Aug 31 Sacramento State W 45-0
Sep 7 Oregon State W 42-14
Sep 16 at Wyoming W 17-10
Sep 23 Hawaii W 41-34
Sep 30 at Utah W 36-3
Oct 7 Louisiana Tech W 55-14
Oct 15 at New Mexico State W 40-28
Oct 21 at Idaho W 42-26
Nov 1 Fresno State W 45-21
Sat, Nov 11 at San Jose State W 23-20
Sat, Nov 18 Utah State W 49-10
Sat, Nov 25 at Nevada W 38-7

With that said, last night's game vs OSU is living proof why there should be a playoff system implemented in NCAA football. Fans would love it.

If they can put 64 NCAA basketball teams in a tournament then I'm sure they can make a 16 game playoff bracket for NCAA football.

i've always been a bsu fan, born and raised in boise idaho but i don't think they deserve the national title. I'm a realist, the broncos played hard last night and they deserved the win, but i'm not sure if they could do it every week. Not that i'm taking anything away from them, they went out with a goal last night and they came out on top. they need to gradually work their way up and start playing harder teams before they're ready for a national title. i think we should just follow what Ian Johnson said, be proud of the undefeated season and be proud of the win last night. there's always time to move up and win more, right now lets just enjoy the win. and i loved what they said last night when bsu tied it up in the fourth quarter, it's not the size of the dog, it's the heart. well something to that effect anyway! he he!
