There is a great difference between a celeb and a star. On the whole, stars are creative people who contribute a great deal towards our cultural life. This is not just in the pop music field, it includes Placingo Domingo & artists such as Tracy Emin (Love her or hate her) Sir Simon Rattle and Anthony Gormley . Celebs are only famous for being famous, such as Jade Goody, Paris Hilton, Jordan and any other untalented airhead eejuts you would care to mention. They have no artistic or creative talent, they are just shameless self publicists, hooked onto the coat tails of the b*tch queen success. Fame junkies. I for one will not be watching Big Bro. Can you say the same?

Most of them are useless. Everything they do is done for a reason, namely their own publicity, I would never give to any charity they endorse or buy any products they advertise, so I can honestly say I have not lined any of their pockets. The only thing I do, begrudgingly, is pay for a TV licence, which is compulsory, but if I didn't have a family the TV would be straight out of the window.

Most are because everyone appears to be called a celeb these days, look at Jade Goody for goodness sake whats going!
Our culture is now so decadent and shallow.
Come on lets get a grip of ourselves and stop idolising these wanna bee's.

Celebs are NOT USELESS! They are people too! If you don't like celebrities, that's perfectly fine, just don't watch ET or Extra or read tabloids. And if it wasn't for celebs, you wouldn't have sports, movies, or music.

Unfortunately we take what they say way too seriously. They should stick with acting and leave the politics to the politicians(whom aren't bad actors themselves...) I used to think Tim Robbins was a great actor ,I wouldn't watch a free video with him in it anymore. Tom Cruise?Scientology? Please!! And don't even get me started with these "chicks" from the "View". Or how Oprah paid to have Eva Longorias parents summer home renovated. What was that all about?? Leave that up to my sweetheart Paige Davis!!

I don't think they're that useless, it's useless to have a freaky obsession with them, but they're good to laugh at but that's about it.
