I am asking because I am incredulous that people are like sheep bound for slaughter.

Some do and they are the ones that are ignorant, unobservant, and unread. We are lied to on a regular basis, they throw our money away on useless pork and wars we can't win. They favor the rich and throw a bone to the poor.
Do you believe there were nuclear weapons in Iraq?

The event that made this fact clear to me was President Kennedy's assassination. The nation was numb. I sat there glued to the TV, just sick, watching some films of the shooting over and over again. This one film was shown all day long. Everyone saw it. It was very, very clear he was shot from the right front You could see the back of his head shatter and throw brain and bone all over the police man that was to the rear on his left. The next day there were these detailed explanations of how he was shot from the rear out of the book store window. Bah! Absolutely impossible and yet they keep telling everyone this other stupid unbelievable story. I went to Dallas and stood there just to be sure. I KNOW what I saw. The shot had to have been fired from the grassy knoll. So who is the government covering up? Again! I am not a fanatic, just observant. Wake up everyone!

Me? Nope. I have one word to say, hegemony. The only reason why people accept everything the US government says is because of hegemony. The people on top (government, ruling class, etc.) know the people on the bottom (working class, poor, etc.) are stupid and that they would believe anything the people on the top says, taking anything they say BLINDLY. I'm an anarchist communist (or Libertarian communist) and the reason why the oppressed aren't going to revolt and start a revolution against their oppressors is because the governement tells them things like "We'll feed the poor [you]" or "We'll promise [insert something the oppressed want]" and they say things like
"You need us to survive" just not directly. The US government basically distracts us from the real problems in the world, environmentally, socially, and economically.

Examples are like how the majority of the Americans think communism is bad and anarchism is bad (not knowing what it is and just believing what the government tells them) or how the police are there to protect you (when they're really just there to protect private property and to preserve social order).

"Ignorance is bliss"

Yes, but, when the government finds out they dispatch the black helicopters to find them, they are hauled off to San Francisco where they are raped by gay sasquatches until they have been successfully reprogrammed and then after that they get their instructions daily from CNN. I know, because it happened to me, and my butt hurts! :((
Uh oh, I think I hear choppers coming!
Seriously, those who ARE a part of the government, trust it implicitly, as long as they are in control of it, when they're not in control, they tell everyone NOT to trust the government. You will see all the reps now becoming the obstructionists in Congress, and the dems will start whining they can't get anything accomplished, after years of being the ones obstructing. And everyone will be clueless. As usual.

We all had blind faith at one time. It takes something in our lives that relates to the government to wake up. Today there are thousands of Americans being illegally and nonconsensually tested by nonlethal weapons. They are hypnotized, burned and many have lost their homes. That should wake people up. See the Washington Post Magazine this month on the weekend of the fourteenth.

Unfortunately, as I wrote in a question of mine, big part of the American society is in the deep level of allienation; they're so deep in this state that they cannot see that themselves are like that.

They believe alright because everyone, when have fear (and the Americans do have fear), trust in some God, or in some politicians, or in another nation, or in an actor, or any social leader in in one's own ideas and imaginations.

When one is inside a bubble, one cannot see the whole world, but, instead, believes that such bubble IS all that exists.

Such is the case of the USers. They are, the most of them I mean, immersed in a allucinatory sea of ignorance and disinformation where they cannot even think: "oh, there's is another way of life, look!".

Thus, the big part of the North Americans do trust in the USA Government.

Hmmm. Let me guess.....you don't? Just a hunch.

I trust the government to a point, but not 100%. I don't think they're all boy scouts, but I don't think they are planning for some sinister New World Order either.

Only a blatant fool in todays political climate. We don't have politicians. We have two gangs, and neither one can shoot straight. Their so busy lining their pockets with pork. They are just full time fund rasiers. We are a nation of the special interest, for the special interest, and by the special interest. Every thing is for sale in America, including our national security.

Yes. That is why the Left (Democrats) want a strong federal govt. They don't trust local people to run their own affairs, they might start thinking and acting for themselves.
