No, but I do think that generally everyone should pay some taxes.
That's what I like about the flat tax.
If only a minority of voters pay taxes, the majority can keep squeezing them with higher rates. That's not fair.

Voting is an inalienable right under our Constitution, and there is no Constitutional tax requirement to qualify a citizen as a voter. Nobody "allows" you to vote, you have the right to do so. Go read the Declaration of Independence and the entire Constitution, it's your duty as a citizen to know your rights and responsibilities and fight for them if necessary.

No, I think only CITIZENS should be allowed to vote. What about the stay at home moms who do not get paid? There are other occupations out there where we do not pay taxes, but we are US citizens and that is our right to vote!

JSpielfogel is absolutely correct on the tax issue; if we consume, we all pay a tax of some kind.
However, I think that citizenship should be a requirement, yes.
Actually, I think that we should all be required to vote, even if it means checking a box that says,"Not this guy, no way" or "NONE of the above."

I believe that is the way it is supposed to work. You have to be a citizen to vote and citizens are required to pay taxes.

i don't think of so... all American's pay tax in one way or yet another. for occasion, a renter facilitates pay his landlords "property tax" as a results of fact the owner frequently components that in the process with the hire. frequently inspite of the shown fact that, the decrease earning tier do not comprehend that and are the 1st in line to hike property taxes as a fashion to get another income on the community. Regardless... vote casting is an attractive, and regrettably, vote casting for the government to get rid of extra of human beings's funds to pay for stuff which you extremely want is likewise an attractive... Wow.. it somewhat is twisted. i could would desire to re-evaluate my place in this one.
