Since I found out I was pregnant, I have had to have one tooth pulled and two root canals and a cavity filled, and im only 15wks prego. I tried to put the work off, but I couldknt take the pain. Has anyonelse had similiar problems? my main concern is the ex=rays, and the tyelenol I have been taking, also a penicillan. I know the doc said its ok, but I still worry and wanted some advice from someone who had the same problems. And was your baby ok in the end?

OMG YES. Take Caltrate as long as it's ok with your ob/gyn. Penicillin is fine for pregnant women, as is Tylanol. As far as the x-rays go, make sure they lay that lead blanket over your belly. You'll be ok. And yes. I had perfect teeth before I had my kids. Now I've had 2 pulled & a million fillings.

Dental x-rays are okay, there is next to no exposure to the uterus, but they will put a lead lined apron over your stomach area.
Relax, dental treatment is not only safe, but is required during pregnancy.

I put mine off, but paid for it two weeks after my daughter was born- I got the WORST tooth ache- I remember going to the dentist and saying that I preferred childbirth to that pain.
Please get the work done now- it will save you having to have for more extensive treatment further down the line.

A lot of pregnant women have trouble with their teeth. It takes alot of calcium out of your body--plus iron. My friend even actually lost teeth during her pregnancy, and mine shifted a little-- Their okay now.

My sister had problems with hers she had work done and xrays her baby is 2 now and has no problems. If you dont get your teeth taken care of while your pregnat they could fall out.

tylonal and penicillin(as long as your not allergic) are fine, it's the freezing they use that can harm your baby. ask your ob or dr.
