game developers often overlook the simplest of details. This happens alot in Madden, All Star Baseball, especially with players who may not be the most popular or well known at the time. You have to remember that game developers are most likely not hardcore baseball fans like the folks who buy the game.

David Ortiz was not in the bigs in 1999 (only 10 games, 20 AB for the Twins).
