Do talented muiscal artists must create their own music and lyrics to be considered to be more talent than the one that did not create the original piece of that music?

someone that is talented, who plays music, IS a musician... DUH!!!
and if they write their own ****, then yes, they are definitely more talented... DUH!!!

cover bands are excally that! COVER BANDS yes i'm sure they have talent but no orginality!
if you want to get signed then you need to be orginal!
over all for great musicianship the members all should take part in writing the song from scratch!

Just you can't say so in so is more talent then so in so in a coverband! we all are different! and if i want to do a cover band that doesn't limit my talent... But it shows more musianship if i were to express my talent from myself not another band!

A very talented musician may be referred to as 'virtuoso.' The answer to your second question is subjective to the listener, and would be a song-by-song basis.

Good, ORRIGINAL, sound. Music that can be related to. And, YES, they DO need to write their own songs.
