noo dont worry about it! i get mine done twice a month and after the first few times you start to get used to it anyways and it doesn't bother you anymore. and YES YES YES!!! specify exactly what you want cause you dont want them to give you a messed up brow job! I reccommend a cost cutters, that's where i get mine done at..and for your first time tell them what your looking for...like if you want to get them thinner, give them a shape, or make them shorter..remember whatever you choose to get your hair will grow back! good luck!!

It only hurts for a few seconds and your brow will be red for 1/2 hour or so. It depends on where you live, I think $18 is actually a little high. In this area it's $12. I will caution you, make sure when you go in the salon/spa is clean, clean, clean and also that the person doing the waxing uses a new stick for each brow. I've heard of people getting infections from having their brows done at a dirty salon. This is not to scare you, most salons are fine, but I just want to make sure you have the best possible outcome. You'll be thrilled with how your brows look and it takes no time at all compared to tweezing.

You do need to tell them how you want it to look, such as thinned out, just shaped (which removes stray hair), they'll work with you. It's $12 where I live, you might find someone to do it cheaper. Usually it will turn out ok, if it doesn't ask for your money back or talk to the manager who should not ask for payment. It will burn and your brow area will stay red swollen so don't plan on going out, where you care if people see your face red, until the next day. Use ice to relieve redness & swelling. Sally's wax kit you buy at walmart is also another way to do it yourself. You heat the wax, apply it CAREFULLY, and pull it off. Same technique. I took cosmetology for around a year, never finished, and I was scared to get mine done while in class because of the way they ripped off the muslin cloth. It doesn't hurt as much as you would think. It's quick, if it was done slowly, you would scream. I have mine done all the time and have never had a bad experience. I also do it myself when I don't feel like paying them at the salon. FYI Do not shave your eyebrows. They will grow back bushy, and you will not like it. Do not allow the person at the salon to wax too far up your forehead, stray hair will grow back and look bad if not waxed off immediately again. Trim long eyebrows, do not wax them or tweeze. Doing so could leave bald areas. You should be fine at the salon.

First of all I was a hair dresser and had to do brow waxing. You need to find someone who is qualified to actually do eyebrows. Just because they work in a salon doesn't mean they know how to do this. Make sure that you don't need to go anywhere afterward for a while cuz your upper parts of your brows will be so red you will look like a clown. Take some tylenol it takes the sensitivity out of the skin. Be prepared, it hurts like hell.

You shouldn't be scared. Yes it will hurt, but a good waxer will do it quickly to reduce the sting. Also if you are paying 18 dollars for a brow wax, without tip, I'm assuming the waxer is really great because I feel that is pricey.
Before you wax, the waxer should hold a mirror up to you and ask you how you want it and should also know how to wax your eyebrows to match your natural curve of your face and eyebrows b4 the wax.
You will love it when you're finished.

I go to a Nail Salon to get it done. Yea, it hurts a little. But, what's a little pain for beauty. I have big bushy eye brows (thanks to my father) and always get mine waxed.I have never had a problem with the way it turned out. Just tell them how you want it to look. They are professionals and should know what they are doing. another tip... First ask them to do it a little thicker. because if you don't like it then they can always take some off. Once you have what you like then it will be easy to go back and get it done again because the outline is all already there. Good Luck!

Here in the upstate of South Carolina it's about $10.00...and it hurts like the dickens for just a minute, and then it just stings for about an hour. It'll be red for a bit, too. You can bring a picture if you like, and the best way to find someone who does it well is word of mouth. Other than that, it's taking your brows into your own hands! LOL

im a beauty therapist hand on heart i can tell you its not as bad as people make out.
Its over quickly usually within 15mins. you have nothing to be worried about, however i would make sure that the salon you are visiting has a good reputation and tell the therapist what you would like your eyebrows to look like a picture is a great idea.
usually the therapist will give you pointers on shapes that will suit you. but make her aware that this is your first time having a brow wax, they will understand you being nervous and they will go through the treatment step by step.

$18 is cheap. I have paid over $100 for an eyebrow wax from the famous Eliza in NY. Definitely bring in a picture to show them. Choose a model with a natural, gradual, smooth arch. Good eyebrows make a huge difference.

Nothing to be scared of...it just stings a little your first time. I know that right after I get mine done I go home, b/c it makes my brows pink and it looks funny so I go straight home - lol. Here where I live I pay $10 dollars plus like a $5 dollar tip...
Getting them waxed makes you definitely looked more polished as your brows frame your face.
GOOD LUCK!

The pain ususally goes away after a few seconds. I got my first eye brow wax at 11. It will be ok.
The price depends on each place that does it. Phone around for something cheaper.
