You could be having an out of body experience or astral projection. What you see is something your subconscious is trying to tell you about. It is something you fear or don't want to deal with. Confront this fear and it will go away, do not be afraid.

To clear up a misconception, An Incubus is a (fallen angel) that is suppose to be control by the words that is written a stone tablet. That tablet is also suppose to contains the words that can create or bring an incubus into our world of reality. Also an Incubus (fallen angel) exist here to bring harm to mankind in some very serious ways also all Incubus come in the guise of a demon. Another thing is said that an incubus spirit is suppose to rest within the writing on a stone tablet or a Incubus was buried beneath it. And a stone tablet was place on top of it as a warning. There are many reason why you may dream of an Incubus. But to actually meet one and remain unscathed would be a true miracle and proved beyond all doubt that you are blessed............ Now are fallen angels a real entity You can bet your last dollar on that and come out a winner.........

I've had sleep paralysis for years. It can be very unnerving, but there's no evidence anything supernatural is afoot. It's just our brains playing with us. We wake up enough to see (or know) we're in our rooms, but we're still dreaming enough to see and feel things that aren't there.
In addition to "something's in the room", I often feel that I'm being dragged out of bed or lifted at odd angles and thrown down again. It's weird! But people watching me sleep asure me that I wasn't going anywhere.
In the old days, before we understood R.E.M. sleep and how the brain worked, people around the world blames the weirdness they saw on ghosts, demons and monsters. The good (if boring) truth is, it's all in our heads.

I did not know it was called sleep paralysis. After I read the answer from Namowal I found that this was happening to me too but I did not know how to call it, and I did not dare to speak about it to anybody. Thank you for asking the question and talking about it. Bye.

Often sleep paralysis involves visual hallucinations. It is often depicted in medieval drawings, as they thought it truly was a demon sitting on the chest.
No worries, nothing is out to get you. I've never experienced that during sleep paralysis, but still...it's scary but it's nothing to worry about.

Whenever you wake up in that state, it is called Astro-Catalism. It is when your spirit takes leave of your body. When that happens you will see things from the other side. Most times we don't remember when it happens. Do you feel a heavy wait on your chest, or hear a loud static like sound as well??? Sort of a loud buzzing sound. Fear not my friend. IM me or E-mail me for more info.-Voodoo

I used to get this a lot, and felt absolutely terrified that there was something evil in the room holding me down so that i was unable to move. I saw a programme about it and it is when one half of the brain is awake, but the other half still unconcious. I found that reminding myself of this whenever i was suffering made it less scary and then I suffered less frequently.

There's already a great answer about this, but I just wanted to add the website below - and that I've had them, too. It would happen to me sometimes when I was in high school, even saw the shadowy, evil figure watching me, too.
