I'm pretty, wear nice clothes, and have lots of frineds. They've told me they won't bail on me just because I have glasses and bracces, and my friend looked good with them. I want to take off my glasses during school (put them on when I need to see the board) but that's a hassle, and my mom says its stupid. I need some encouragement here. I guess I'll just see what I look like with them and then decide later. What do you guys think?

no one will care really........had both....most people when i had braces were either wanting them or had them so it was no big deal....same with the glasses so you'll still look great and have the same friends...if your friends don't like you for braces and glasses they aren't the friends for you

Don't worry about it! I've been wearing glasses since grade 10 (16 yrs old) and the year after, in grade 11 I got braces too, for a year! Coincidentally, that was the same time i met my Boyfriend, and now, in my third year of university, we're still together. The crazy thing is, i got my braces off in grade 12 and then had to put them back on last year for 9 months! MORE glasses and braces haha. If you're really freaked out about it, just get contacts! but i wouldnt worry about it if i were u. i wore glasses to school most of the time and even now, i only really wear contacts when i'm going OUT somewhere, usually only on weekends. also, dont let them put funky colour elastics in your mouth, get them to use the clear ones, and believe me, the braces wont really be that noticeable. There is nothing wrong with glasses nor braces. Anyone who makes fun of you or thinks anything neg. towards you is being childess. You need glasses to see better, a lot of people wear them.
Taking them off and on is kinda silly tho, just wear them and be proud. And if it reallt becomes an issue then get contacts.
Oh, and by the way, there is also completely nothing wrong with Geeks, best and friendliest people I know are geeks!

If you have glasses and you feel like you look hot in them and other people tell you that the braces will only add to that. Be confident in yourself and there is no need for u to worry about it. Everyone has had braces at one point or will have them. And most ppl have glasses. Just remeber everyone see's beauty in a different way so all you have to do is feel beautiful and everyone else will seee that in you!

If you look good with glasses, dont bother taking them on and off. They are probably part of the way people are used to seeing you, anyway. When you get your braces though, don't get really loud, ugly colors. Try and stick with colors that don't stand out ALOT and you will be fine.

Wearing glasses or having braces (or both) doesn't make you a geek. A geek is someone without many friends who would rather study all night than hang out with friends. You described yourself, and nothing about you is geeky.

I remember when I thought that too and no, you won't look like a geek, i wear both glasses and braces and still look good. Think about how you'll look when you get your braces off, you'll have the prettiest smile ever!(that's what gets me going).
P.S- Braces are painful but worth it

No you wont be a geek! And i wouldn't keep taking you glasses off all the time, that could make you vision worse. You could always get contacts or whatever if you wanted to.

i used to wear glasses but got contacts
its much better than taking them off and putting them on!
i say you get some black rimmed glasses or whatever
looks good on you and plus i have braces too
and everyone respects me about it so no you are not a geek :)

Stop worrying about what the boys think. They are only concerned about boobs and butts right now. My daughter has braces and no one makes fun of her. She actually has guys and girls who are curious who her orthodontist is. She changes the color about once a month. It's fun and your teeth will be beautiful when they come off. Let them say whatever they may..... they will eat those words later. Thank you and good luck.
