No it's not legal in most states. It would be considered manufacturing drugs to be in possession of the seed.

I thought it was illegal to import any seeds and other organic items into any country without Customs authorisation?.. Aren't you asked on entering any country whether you have anything to declare? and when posting items to any country, aren't you asked by postal officials if you need a declaration certificate of posting?

Why would you want to import such seeds anyway?

You can import cannabis seeds, but only if they're not viable, i.e. they won't grow if you plant them. Mushroom spores, on the other hand, you can import and possess in the US. There's a shop in the US I know of that actually sells "idiot-proof" mushroom grow kits, complete with spores.

Nope, not in the least.

You may be thinking of mushroom spores, which, as far as I have read/been told, are legal to purchase and possibly even to grow into mushrooms until the point at which they become psychadelic, at which time they become highly illegal.

It is illegal....but seeds shipped in that are caught are just destroyed...no charges to the addressee...I know people that have had them shipped in candles from Amsterdam...some made it some didn't.
