My 18 year old daughter is moving for college soon and I want to fill a shuffle with songs for her....songs like "you are the sunshine of my life" by Stevie Wonder or the new song by Tim McGraw from the movie Flicka...."gotta hold on tightly as I let you go" or any song that a mom could give her daughter to let her know she's so important to me and that I love her. I have a list of about 20 songs and am looking for all genres of music: pop, country, oldies, hip hop, rock....anything. Ideas welcome!

She already has an Ipod with thousands of her own songs on it...this would be a cheapy ipod with as many songs as I can think of (or solicit here!)

The point of the gift is not the ipod...but what's on it. So fire away with song ideas...coming from a dad or mom. The gift can be from both of us, her mom and dad.

The song is called "In My Daughter's Eyes" and sung by Martina McBride. It is a beautiful, beautiful song...

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I want to be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me, gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

Maybe put a few things on it, like the Tim McGraw song or something, but I'd just let her do it mostly herself... that way she know's you care, but it's not like "oh thanks, an Ipod already used up."

"I loved her first" by Heartland is a good song, but it is sung by a guy, so I don't know if you want that. But it really is a very good song.
