I have been getting regular Restylane injections for 3 years now. I get them every 6 months. Unfortunately, there's nothing out there that lasts longer than that (unless you have your own fat injected) however, I do know that there is a product in testing right now that's supposed to last up to two years but is not on the market yet.

The injections are fairly painful - much more so than Botox. They are also more expensive. I have never heard of Botox being used around the mouth ever. Botox paralizes tiny muscles where as Restylane uses moisture from your own body to "plump" and give whatever area that's been injected and softer more fuller look. Restylane for upper and lower lips (at my surgeons office) is $650 and that includes a dental block. Yes, it hurts me enough that he just numbs my mouth like I'm at the dentist.

Botox, which I have around my eye area, only requires numbing with a topical gel and to do both my eyes and my brows it costs around $450 every 3-4 months.

As always, RESEARCH YOUR PHYSICIAN! This is SO important. Ask how long he's been doing the procedure, how many he's done, etc. Make sure you're comfortable before signing permission for him/her to do your procedure.

Hope this was helpful!
Good luck...

they can last from 3-6 months... u can get botox to lift the lips and make them appear fuller this costs around $50... if u want to spend more, say arounf 3-400$ then you can get restalyne which is also known as collagen which is an animal fat byproduct that can be injected to make lips look fuller... be careful with the restalyne though, many people are allergic to it... and it can give you hives or anaphylactic shock if you are...

lip injections are tricky...you have to be VERY specific about what you want, or your lips will end up looking too large for your face. also, research the docter who will be doing it, don't just get it done at a salon or spa. it's not a one time injection, but it lasts about 8 months. personally, i wouldn't recommend it, but if you must, make sure you research your doctor and see that they are certified by the board of plastic surgeons, and make sure you tell them specific things that you want. if you like the little dip in your top lip, make sure you tell them, and other details like that. also, if you want to plump up your lips without injections, buy a clear shiny lip gloss, and apply it in the center of your bottom lip, and at the two peaks in your top lip. it will make your lips look instantly bigger!

I have seen celebrities who look like Brats dolls with lips blown up like rafts. Unfortunately this kind of enhancement does not last long and they deflate just like rafts do and look very ugly afterwards.
