You'll need £3.5 grand to pay for your training. That can take up to a year because it is in 3 parts. The Driving Instructor College claim you can earn up to £30k a year. I would take that with a pinch of salt. There are plenty of driving instructors out there. Do a test in your local area and ring up for a driving lesson to see how quickly you can get one. The type of car you use for training will help. The new Mini is popular with pupils so that will help. You'll also get good discounts and favours from the local garage. Pupils tend to buy the car they learnt to drive in so you want a good discount when you buy because of all the recommendations you put their way. Your insurance will be dirt cheap because you never go above 20mph and dual controls. Get a medium sized car for comfort, you'll spend a lot of time in it. Finally be prepared to work early and late to fit in with pupil requirements. And keep every receipt even for Polo mints(pupil bad breath) all comes off the tax bill.
