To whom said "mold growing inside a water pipe is almost impossible."

I can smell it when cold water run out. After running for a while, the smell is gone. I don't smell it with hot water. And one day, I saw some grey color water run out with the cold water. The only reason I can think of mold growing is that I was away from home last summer for one month.

I would get new pipes a newer brand that dont rust or grow mold!
it happends tho!
try cleaning it with a pipe cleaner found at homedepot or what not!
then run hot hot hot water through it!
see if they have a clr to run throught the pipe too!
best of luck
