What I mean is that.. most people automatically think that ALL gay people are HUGE fashion freaks... I asmit.. I am one.. but I just think that people are in a way really stereotypical about everything. I WANT to be more of a fashion freak, because I love it, but how do I get started, what should I do.. etc? Please help..
Thanks

I DONT care what people think or say. Quite frankly, if they have nothing else better to do than degrade others, then I say "bully for them".

Why do care what other people think of you?
Just lead the life you want.
Just as I lead my own life.
I don't let other people tell me how to behave myself.
You just be yourself.
Good on you.

I don't think that you're being stereotypical at all. First of all, not all gay people have good fashion sense. A couple of my gay friend always look like they got dressed in the dark. Second, the reason some gay guys have wonderful fashion sense is because they are more in touch with their feminie side, so they know how to dress to impress. Look babydoll, you dress how you feel, screw what other people think. Just check into some college choices for your dream and get at it. Good Luck. Plus check out some fashion films, such as America's next top model, The Devil wears Prada, etc.

Some of the best male fashion designers are in fact straight. Regardless of sexual orientation that does not make you who you are and what you are capable of career wise. I say follow your dreams! Now, to get started I would first decided what it is in fashion you would like to do. Being a designer is a hard industry to be successful in on the other hand if that is a goal of yours than the first step would be to contact a local university or college that offers Fashion design. I would also like to interest you in Fashion Merchandising. That particular industry is booming. You can easily get a job and make great money. The higher you go on the latter the better the benefits. I hope this helps and good luck!

I think that it is one of the many stereotypes that GLBT has. Nothing to really be concerned about, I'm glad you don't care about what other people think because if fashion is really your passion you won't be happy settleing!
As far as getting started goes, have you tried going to desgn school? Parsons in NYC has a great program as well as many other great schools. Because personally, I'm one of those people that thinks just because it's in a magazine, doesn't mean it "in"! I have seen some God-awful stuff in some mags lol!! Going to a school will really help you find your own style and teach you how to put your own flare on things!

Buy the following DVD series:
1. America's Next Top Model
2. Project Runway
3. Sex and the City
That should give you a head start in being a fashion freak. You also might consider moving to Paris or Milan.

yes it is stereotypical, but who cares? Do what ever you like doing, no one else is paying your bills so you shouldn't care. You should go to a fashion school if you really want to pursue it

Yeah but who cares. People, especially women, tend to think that gay guys have the best fashion sense anyway.
I haven't a clue how to get started but if you don't pursue this you will regret it. Never hide your talent!!!!!

Follow your heart mann......socialize with those who have similar interest. But, seriously, there are more SERIOUS stereotypical ideas about gays to worry about rather than "why are we characterized" as fashion freaks?
Follow your mann, follow your dreammmmm....
