Jazz demands a lot more attention for the listener than most music. The benefits are huge though.

The freedom, spontaneous notes and rhythms make it so great. Rap and rock have its points like that too, but I agree jazz is amazing (especially duke although my favorites are davis and coltrane!!!!)

check out jazz rap like digable planets or a tribe called quest
and the music genre of fusion is also awesome

Cause not everyone has the same taste, and I like rock as well as jazz, while other people prefer country or rap etc.

Variety, it's what makes us each unique.I must say that I love jazz,R&B,soul, classical, and country.i do believe that some of the younger people have never heard some of the best music of our time. That is sad, but true. And they will never do it on their own. They will miss out on a lot.
