Darryl is close to sounding like dare ill, with the accent on the dare. I hope that helps.

Let's practice. Sound like hare, air, bare, pair as u say .. so try dare..

ril - its like a short "i" OR rel- its like a short "e"

Dare- ril OR Dare-rel
Darryl OR some spells Darrell also

I pronounce this name as Da' - rill or Da' - rull. "D" as in "duh" combined with a "short a" (like a child might say "Dada" for "father"), and then "rill" with a "short i" or "rull" as it would rhyme with "full" (as in "I'm too full to eat another bite, thanks.")

Actually I'm more apt to pronounce it the second way, but that could just be where I'm from in the U.S. (northeast) Perhaps Darryll has his own preference!

me too... english is not my first language but... i have a friend name darryl and daryl... In Darryl we pronounce it like duhr-rel but silent (e)..., and Daryl like dee-rel and silent (e).... But anyway... i think its up to the owner's name on how to pronounce his/her name, on what ever his/her comfortable with... or why not use nickname likeD... or something...

Dare - ell is the general idea. The same name is also spelled Daryl, Darrell, etc... same basic pronunciation! :)

No, it's actually DAH-rell, not DARE-ell. A short, not a long A.

Try saying it as 2 words - "Dare-Rill".

"Dah - rill"
(a short 'a' sound)

or maybe "Dare - ill" if you're in America (though this pronunciation is wrong)
