AS a few others have mentioned, I'd suggest a simple yet thoughtful thank you letter. Teachers aren't known for doing things for gifts and such, but nothing beats an eloquent thank you.

Write the note. Forget the chocolate. That makes it seem like a bribe. You don't have to have cards. Just a note on nice paper in an envelope will do.

A sincere thank you card is enough, and let her know the results of whatever it is you are applying for that needed her recommendation. Teachers take pride when their students do well.

depends on the type of person she is but since she is a teacher i would get something work oreinted it would not look so personal but it would be personal you know what i mean like if you bought some flowers that would be nice but it may look like hum she bought flowers but if you bought something like a breifcase hat would be ok
