On multiple choice tests and things that aren't really important, like what I want to eat, I do what comes first to mind. But things like writing an essay or an important decision, I tend to think harder.

Example: I once was in an essay contest. I wrote an essay with the first thought that came to mind reguarding the topic, and I didn't place. A few years later, I entered a different contest, and got the same topic. Instead of doing what I did earlier, I thought as hard as I could to be original and got first place, since the first thoughts that came to my mind last time were the first thoughts that came to everyone's minds as well, so I scored real high on originality.

i follow my first instinct. i was told that when you take a test and you're stuck between two answers, it's best to pick the first answer you thought was correct. it's worked [: and i apply that to other things too.
