No. Only if you need the pipes to be more rigid. In other words to keep them from having to much side to side movement when they are run side by side. to keep them from hitting the body and things like that

It's not required but if you have true dual exhaust, it helps a bit more.

An X-pipe is only used on a true dual exhaust system. Instead of changing the size of the exhaust, you can add the X-pipe and utilize both sides of the dual exhaust.

A Y-pipe is used to bring the 2 exhaust paths in to one.

Noi. You need a Y pipe that comes off the convertor pipe and then you run the duals with or without mufflers. There are many different way that you can run the duals. Size of pipes, type of mufflers etc. Listen to a truck like yours that has duals and if you like that sound, copy it. Good luck... GaryT

Go for the cross over pipe it will help equalise the backpressure of the exhaust system and give better power.
