animals have something like periods. For example, dogs go into heat about 2 times per year. During "heat", the female usually bleeds (like a human), and at some point during the heat she is able to become pregnant with a male dog.

Our dog would have periods when she was in heat (ovulating etc), she'd drip blood on the floor, so we made a diaper thing for her, which also kept the male dogs out so she wouldn't get pregnant.
Chickens have periods too, but without the blood. We eat the unfertilised eggs which they lay.

All mammals have their period, just not like ours. Like for instance a dog will get theirs every couple of months, instead of every month like we do.

because they dont develop breasts, nor hips.
