Asking your doctor is good advice, but there are other things you can try in the mean time to eliminate some things. Using a good amount of lubrication is a good idea, as sex can be VERY painful if you're not producing enough lubrication naturally. Increasing the time of foreplay is a good idea to work up enough natural lube if you don't want to use an artificial one and it will help the muscles in your vaginal area to relax, making sex less stressful on your body. Also, try different sexual positions; the pain you're experiencing during sex could be due to him hitting your cervix, which is located at the back of your vagina, and for most women is a very painful experience, and experimenting with different positions could help to avoid that.

You DO want to see a doctor though, which I am sure you're doing since you're trying to conceive. There are a few medical conditions that you could be suffering from that could be relatively easily reversed (depending on the severity of the condition) such as endometriosis or cysts. Also, you should get tested for all STDs as those could also cause painful sex (if you've done this in the past, doing it again couldn't hurt).

Just try to relax and take it easy; just concentrate on the moment with your husband so you don't stress about whether this time you will conceive or not. The less stressed you are, the more likely you are to have a good time. If you don't have a problem with drinking, have a glass of wine or two with dinner before you make love.

It takes some time to get used to it and for the pain to be more bareable.
Are you using plenty of lubricant? This will help A LOT.
Also consider slowing down a little, give your body time to heal, also if you are trying for a baby (congratulations by the way) you should keep it to 1 -2 times per week so that your husband has time to work up some swimmers (not all ejaculation has sperm in it).
