I WANT TO QUIT SCHOOL WHEN I TURN 16 BUT THEY TOLD MY MOM THAT IT WAS A STATE LAW FOR NEW YORK STATE.THAT WHEN I TURN 16 IN FEBUARY THAT I HAVE TO FINISH OUT THE YEAR I TURN 16 .IS THIS TRUE?

You have to finish out the year you drop out in New York. You'll regret it though, you'll be homeless and if you think that you'll get any sort of job as a high school dropout in New York that keeps your dignity, your terribly mistaken.

YES IT CERTAINLY IS.
This country CANNOT afford anymore uneducated young people, that barely have enough education to work in a fast food joint.
I'm sure your parents are proud. I know I am astounded with how many young people do not want to be more educated or smarter and want to be stuck in poverty the rest of their lives.
Odds are you will be living on the streets and homeless by the time you are twenty. Good Luck.

Oh they need stiffer laws like here in Ohio! You can quit school however if you Quit school you can not get your drivers license until you turn 21. Nice little incentive to keep people in school.

Sorry if I sound harsh but quit being an idiot and finish school. You will regret it if you dont, when everyone with a HS diploma or a GED is more qualified than you.

why quit school?
if u quit school, then u are not ready for real world, trust me.
if u keep going and finish school then go college, u will make 25,000 to up, if not go school, u will make like 10,000 a year and u will be flipping burger at fast food for rest of ur life, do u like that?
