I love the warm people, weather (except for the dog days of mid-summer,) diversity in geography and landscape, small town charms, liveliness of the big cities, multiculturalism, live music in Austin, missions in San Antonio, cosmopolitan feel of Dallas-Ft. Worth (FTW isn't quite so pretentious, thankfully,) art, food, mellow attitude and vibe, can I go on?

As friendly as other Southern states such as Mississippi, South Carolina, and Georgia are, the friendliest people I've ever met are in Texas!

It's a great state, and I hope to move there from Kentucky soon enough!

Texas is great! Most people are unaware that Texans have pride because Texas was once its own country! You can't beat the hospitality and friendliness of the people. What a great place to live!

I was a young kid when I visited there. I remember stepping out of the airport and the heat made it feel like there was an unbearable weight on my shoulders. I had some good and bad experiences. Saw some big *** spiders, got attacked by fire ants. The pros definitely outweighed the cons. Went to a Dave and Busters, an Astros game, the Alamo, and the best part about the trip was going to this water park called Schlitterban. I probably botched the spelling but you probably know what I am talking about.

I love Texas. I am from New Zealand and I could not get over the vastness of the place. The people were always friendly and the small towns were great. I love the different landscapes and the cuisine is great. Go Texas!

I live in TX, and have done so for almost 25 years. My folks live in KY, and they were both born there. I have noticed that a lot of Kentuckians have a strange fascination with TX, I don't know why. The people and the sites in Kentucky can be equally nice.

I do love Texas, as it is my home, but there are good and bad things about every place.

I lived in west Texas 20 years ago. I thought the people were kind. The only state Iv'e lived in where everyone nods or waves out their car as you pass on the road. Very different from anywhere in the U.S. Like a whole new world. I hope to travel back with my husband one day.

Born here and lived here most of my life....wouldn't trade it! I don't think any of the people slamming Texas would dare say those things to a Texans face.
