For me dogs and cats. I have 2 cats one dogs. Love hansters and gerbils but found out their life span is only a few years. We found this out the hard way we had Martin for 3 years and he just died I was so sad then found out he was at an average age for dying never again

I LOVE ALL ANIMALS.IV RAISED OVER 60 DOGS & OWN 15 NOW.MY PARAKEET JUST DIED A FEW DAYS AGO.SHE WAS ABOUT 22 YEARS OLD.

I prefer dogs, birds or bearded dragons. Dogs because you can't find anything more loyal, loving and self sacrificing than a good dog. Always happy to see you. Never has a bad day. Thinks you are the universe. Birds b/c they can sing. Nothing prettier than the song of a lizard canary (they aren't quite as pretty as the lovely little yellow canaries but they generally have much better song ... and by the way, each bird's song is individual to him [I say 'him' b/c most female canaries only chirp. In the wild, males sing as part of their courting ritual]). Bearded dragons don't require a lot of maintenance. They're cool pets. They also remind me of the little horned toads we used to catch when I was a kid. Unfortunately the horned toads are now endangered and you hardly ever come across one anymore. Dragons won't cuddle up to you, but the well socialized ones do appear to like being held. And did I mention they are cool? WAY cool?

Dog - we have a registered Yorkshire Terrier named Stormie. He is about 6 years old and he's definitely the 'big dog' in our house. Of course that could be attributed to the fact that he's the only dog in the house since he only weighs 3 pounds!

I love my dacshund! We have 2 dogs (little ones) and 1 cat (huge). Birds are definitely NOT my favorite..... We also gave up on the gerbil, hamster, rat type animals! THey die too quickly!

I have a dog, a cat, and a rabbit. Of my pets, I like the rabbit the best. He is a low maintenance animal, and he is also litter box trained.

I like dogs but because I am always on the go I think a fish would be more practical because they require very low maintenance.
