The only way to socialize an Iguana is to take it out of the cage EVERY DAY. Iguanas are not tame and not likely to ever become tame. They have to learn that being handled by you is a pleasant experience, not a threat. I suggest you read the socialization section of a book like Iguanas for Dummies. It takes time and patience to socialize an Iguana, that is one of the reasons that they are not considered beginner reptiles.

Iguanas won't be nice if you only handle them every now and then. Most of them need to be handled consistantly to keep them tame.
If the problem is getting her out of the cage, pull up a chair next to the cage and sit there, read there, watch a TV there, whatever. Much of taming reptiles is desensitizing them to your presence and movements. They see you close, they react and hiss and tail slap and whatever. If nothing bad happens the reactions will gradually lessen with repetition..
Just break taking her out up into steps. like nearing the cage, opening the cage, touching her, begining to lift her, and repeat them over and over, moving to the next level as she progresses. Repetition and consistancy is the way to best teach and desensitize a reptile..
I remember a particularly nasty little ornate nile monitor I had that I put in a tank and literally picked up and put down for about two hours a day off and on throughout the day because he was very aggressive when lifted. Within about 3 weeks of constant repetition he became a very easy animal to handle and didn't hiss snap or tail whip when lifted. He had become desensitized to it. He grew into a very delightful adult and while he was still high strung he could be handled nearly as easily as the B&W tegus.

Handle her alot! Females are much easier than males. Pet her, hand feed her treats, talk to her. If she tries to whip or snap at you look her right in the eyes and say NO, she'll get it. Give her love iguanas do reciprocate.

Just kill it (or give it away) and find a nice puppy.
Iguanas are mean.
