Each of the multiple choice sections are scored on a scale of 0 to 15. The score isn't on an absolute scale; it is curved against all other test takers. But because of the HUGE number of people taking the exam, the curve is close to what the absolute score would be. It is considered good to get 10 and higher on each of these sections. A score of 30 is considered to be competitive.

The essay portion is scored on a scale of J through T where J is lowest and T is highest. Average essay score of matriculants is around O through Q. A good score won't get you in, but a bad score can keep you out.
