has anyone ever been preg with twins but one of them wasnt alive? Is it still considered a twin pregnancy through out the pregnancy? Do they leave the baby who didnt survive in the womb until the end or do they get it out somehow?

Yes, it still considered a twin pregnancy and will be listed so on the birth certificate. Depending on where in the pregnancy one fetus has died will depend on how the fetus is taken care of. If early into the pregnancy the body will dispose the the fetus naturally. If a late in pregnancy the baby that has passed will be born when the other is birthed. In most cases if a late term single pregnancy drs will have you finish carrying the baby to term.

I have a cousin who is currently pregnant with a twin pregnancy. At three months, she had heavy bleeding, and some clotting and thought she was going through a miscarriage. She went to the doctors for an ultrasound, and they discovered that she had conceived twins, where one wasnt developing the way it should, but the other baby was strong. The unhealthy twin naturally disposed itself from the uterus, and she went through a miscarriage, all while still being pregnant. I think it happens, and Im sure if you stay healthy, and talk to your doctor, he/she will direct you on what precautions to take if you have to go through this.

if it is early in the pregnancy it will abort itself many women mistake this for a miscarriage when they are unsure that it is twins if this is the case i would speak witha doctor soon because it may be toxic or cause strain on the other infant you would probably experience some bleeding at least and maybe a bit of cramping hope all is well

If it's early enough the baby will be passed, or will "vanish". If you are farther along they need to leave the baby in until you deliver. I've heard of that happening many times. They deliver the live baby first, then take the other baby's remains out.

they would leave it in the womb becuase if they get it out they could hurt the other baby who is alive.
but then again it depends haw far you far if you like 7 months they could get it out and put the other baby on a machine to get bigger and stronger

no i dont think they'd consider it a twin pregnancy. i know with my daughter's grandmother they left the baby inside and she delivered it as she delivered the second one but it died too.
