i dint think that man should play God.... personally. but i think that he would have been busted out of prison eventually by his people that still follow him. if i knew for sure that he would have rotted in prison i would have wanted them to let him rot. maybe some occasional torture. but hanging him just ended his suffering. Dont you think?

Yup, one less scumbag in the world, nothing wrong with adding some chlorine to the gene pool.

The bible says a lot of things, trust me I'm Catholic, Sure itsays thoushalt not kill, but it also says an eye for and eye, or when slapped on the cheek you should show the other, or that apples are forbidden fruit and the world was created in 7 days.

All in all it is abook written by man (not God)

The problem with leaving him in prison is that the country is going into civil war and i doubt anyone can stop it now. If the sunni's win, he could have regained his power in Iraq and become even more of a threat to everyone and many thousands in Iraq would have died. Could you imagine a post war Iraq with him back in power, other muslim countries would have backed him for 'beating' the americans...so yes he had to be hung for his crimes. But to hang him during a christian festival and at the begining of the muslim celebrations was a huge mistake, as was letting some idiot video the event. Die i think he had to but not in the public arena.

Thou shalt not kill, one of the Ten Commandments handed down to Moses by God, means exactly what it says. Not only should we not be executing people, we should not kill others for any other reason, not in war or in murder.

When the human race accepts God's command, that 'Thou shalt not kill', we will have arrived at the gates of Heaven.

If people really believed in the bible and the other holy books of the world there would never be another war.
everyone goes to war (they say) with god on their side, so I guess they don't care what it says in the bible.
If god loves everyone, as the teaching goes he must be on both sides. None of this makes sense, so I think maybe religion doesn't either. Am confused now will go lay in a darkened room!

What about all the people he killed?

Yes, he deserved to die, hanging was too good for him, they should have given him to the people.

Why should the people of any country have to pay to keep people like him in prison for the rest of his life.HE WAS A SADISTIC MURDERER.

Are you, another do gooder,if so ,I suppose you think child molesters, rapists and terriorists should just go to prison to be reformed too, don't you?

If however, this is just a question and not how you feel then I apologise for any offence.

The word kill as used in the Ten Commandments means "murder".....Saddam was not murdered. He received justice according to a court of law.

To allowed him to continue living would only give hope to those minority supporters of his and help to prevent them from ever taking part in the process of establishing a democracy in Iraq.

For several reasons, I think he should not have been hung, but I don't think the bible has any relevance! For one thing, after telling you not to kill, god goes on to help his chosen people kill whole populations! What Sadam did to the kurds, god did to almost everyone in the middle east at one point or another in the bible!

They should let him die in the prison instead of killing him. Its only God who has the right to take a man's life.
But its not only in the US, every country has their death sentence..whether its Christian, Islam, Hindu etc. Its the law, the politic. Thats just the way it works and valid...

it up to vengence begonges to the Lord. It hard to say if they should or should not. another verse said if you live by the sword you going to die by the sword. I guess you can expect to die if you kill someon but he broke the laws of the land. therefore in the bible it saids you can exucute someone if you murder. God has allowed people to be murdered when they have murdered throughout the bible many of you are confussed like me. We need to follow what the bible saids that is what Gods law is and if we break his law we will be punished. my suggtion is to read the bible and ask your pastor anything you don't understand. you can start praying and seeking out God.
