whether it's a little Ford Fiesta, Classic E-type Jaguar..Porsche 356B.
I have found out from lisetening to my cockney neighbours just what may be happening to our Cars over Night. Forget the people that pinch your car, by going down your letter box and grabbing your key on the side. This is something a little different.
What is happening, is people from real car trade are looking for copies of damsged cars that they have bought, coming to your house at night and then with a recovery unit, picking it up and away they go and it's rung over with the damaged cars identity(some of these damsged cars are not recorded.)
My real question is, how do I report this to the Police, without giving my real name and having them prosecuted with near immdiate effect??

Forget it. The Police in the UK know it goes on but need people who would stand up in court and give evidence if they lived that long and did not suffer a whole series of unfortunate accidents.
Classic cars are invariably stripped for spares and scrapped, while common cars are stolen and cloned, For instance several Nissan Almeras will operate as Taxis in different towns with the same identity, one kosher 4 or 5 stolen and as long a two are not seen together no one will ever know. As long as Mr Plod can do his shift and stop 6 motorists for being white he will stay on track for promotion, waste time with people like you he could miss a target, not a good move.

They did that in the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" movie and they eventually got caught. Its really a no-brainer for law enforcement because they have people who specialize in catching crooks like this. Amongst many other methods of this kind of fraud, they periodically look up people who have re-registered salvaged cars. If you are putting salvaged cars back on the road much quicker than they can be realistically restored or if you appear to be fixing up and selling cars that are unsafe for the general public that will send up enough red flags for the detectives to investigate. It could even get the attention of the feds.
Even if you blow the whistle, its not likely that you will be identified by the authorities nor will you be asked to testify in court UNLESS you are part of the operation or indirectly connected to it in some form or another.

yeah the police probably allready know but if you feel the need to tell them im sure they will be greatful for the info, and as to what happens to the cars...? well... int he old days people used to sell the car on but these days criminals have more brains... they normally take the car straight to a lockup or garage... strip it of everything its worth then scrap the shell. "ahh but the scrappy would know" some say... 99.9% of car theifs today happen to be good friend with scrap dealers or are scrap dealers themselfs..... and to the fella who thinks the police know everything... well sorry to dissapoint you mate but the people i know have been stealing and dealing with stolen cars since they were teenagers... and are now fully grown men with familys!!!! just shows doesnt it

You can remain anonymous but bear it in mind that you will need some sort of proof to convict these neighbours. If a conviction is brought forward, they might need you in court for identification purposes so its worth thinking about that too.
I would stay out of it if I were you because you have to live next door to each other and they might put 2 and 2 together to figure out it was you that dobbed them in.

Yes, not always. The weirdest thing I saw was someone listening to loud music and they had drumsticks and were drumming the steering wheel of the car like a drum.

The police probably know about it already.
Knowing about it and proving it are two different things, however.
