This question may sound weird, but it preoccupies me so... I earn more than my mother does and even so neither of us exactly afford those clothes, but she keeps on doing this, buying for me. It is the second coat she buys in a month, which cost her over half of her salary. What she buys is not exactly my style, nor my size (they are one or two sizes larger). It hurts me just the thought that she spends so much money on me and moreover on things that I do not exactly like and I cannot use. I wish she stopped buying these things for me. It makes me so unhappy.

just tell her look mom i love you so much but please don't spend your hard earned money on my tell her you will always love her no matter what and if she still buys you things just tell he to set up a day that you to could go out to eat let her buy the first time then you take turns you buy the next and so on and if she agrees then tell her that it was making you unhappy

Tell me about it I have a relative like that two, only she insists on buying cloths 2 sizes two small for me. I know, she knows I do NOT fit in a small. Arhhh.
Anyway If she persists ask her which store it came from and take it in for a exchange to something you do like. Then just wear it all the time. Tell her not to buy you any more because the one your wearing is your favorite so the point of buying more is worthless.

Your English is pretty good, but you are using some words incorrectly. (Determine, moreover) Anyway, just tell her to stop! Take everything she buys you back to the store and give her the money back. Explain to her, that you appreciate the thought, but you would rather pick out your own clothes, or if she wants to shop for you, you should go together, so you can pick out what you like.

Have you told her to stop buying these clothes? If you keep wearing them, what else is she to think but that you like them? Tell her to stop buying your clothes and if that doesn't stop her, stop wearing them. If you know where she buys them, take them back to the store and get something you like. Otherwise, let them hang in the closet, until she gets the hint.

I can't see any other way round it, just tell her the truth like you have explained in your question. that's what I would do if I was you.
If you find that too difficult to say, go out with her on a shopping trip. Make it clear what clothes you like/dislike in shops you explore. Share your opinion with her, its not rude to tell her you have a different opinion!

tell her that even though you really like the coats you would like to spend time with her. tell her that things like this could add up and neither of you work enough to afford it.

have a heart to heart with her and break it to her gently that u'd rather spend more time with her than have her buy expensive gifts for u..tell her that its ur turn to pamper her bcoz thats wat she's been doin to u all ur life..
