it is in nys,they hold off taking anyones dues till after they vote for the board members. there are a &b members on the board, but they wont allow c members who are a majority. thank you

If it is a private club, they can choose to do whatever they want as long as it is not in violation of any local, state, or federal laws

If it's a private club, they set whatever rules they wish. If they won't let you see the bylaws, I wouldn't join.

The key word is PRIVATE. As a private organization they can do as they please so long as it does not violate Affirmative Action laws.
