If you don't do allot of multimedia, or large downloads often, then YES, most people can get away with 250Mb with no major lack of speed. Sure if you are trying to watch web broadcast and it may take a two min's to watch video, but there is no problems with web radio or most on line games unless it has allot of graphics. Looking at very high images you will notice a lag.

I'm all for practicing slowly every now and then, I practice community hall Tai Chi whenever I get myself broken doing my normal arts and I think the health benefits are amazing. But. There's always a but. Did you ever consider that maybe you're faster because you're just healthier in general than you were before you began training in Tai Chi? Maybe practicing Tai Chi has put you in better shape than you would be otherwise, I know that when I was on holidays and not working I put on weight in spite of doing more training because I was in the house with the refrigerator instead of at work with set lunch hours. Maybe standing around doing fifty slow punches keeps you out of the kitchen when doing ten punches at a decent pace gives you time to raid the fridge. Just a theory.

I think the price for the 768kb is almost same as the 1.5Mb. There should be saving plan out there.
I think you can get 1.5Mb for less than $15 a month, plus all the taxes and etc.
I think the price difference is worth my applications. I watch video, listen to online radio and download large files, so I need the speed.

It really depends on what you plan on doing on the internet. if you are planning on gaming online or downloading large files....don't go with the slower connection....Cable has a greater potential right now...i have heard 15mb/s while i have only seen DSL advertised at 6mb/s...but if you are a penny pincher and you only check e-mail...go with the slower DSL...you will get your e-mails just fine...and still be able to surf without too much lagtime...
Another thing to consider is if you have more than one computer....you have to divide your bandwidth among your computers. divide it too much you might as well be on dial up....

It really depends on your usage, traffic, etc.
For example I'm using a 256K ADSL and think I am over paying!!!plan to downgrade it to 128K!!!
because I just use it to surf the web, email management,IM,web search for my projects and do not need a high speed connection.

Depends. If you are into gaming then you need the higher connection. If not don't waste the money.

Most of the times cable is better. Specially if it is more than 4Mbps.
