I just answered something very similar, so you get the shorter version.
Get over it. I have two felonies and make a great living. Felonies aren't the end of the world. Once you realize and get over it, you'll see that other people don't care as much as you think.
Grants to start your own business? Felonies may not be that tough of an obstacle to getting a job, but I doubt anyone is just dying to throw money at us and hope we'll be responsible and trustworthy.
Teaching? Everywhere is different, but I'd doubt it.

If you don't get any better answers, I know people in your situation who have been hired by temp-agencies and who eventually got hired on permanently.
