i ask this because the mce keyboard already have a built in mouse. im pretty sure it can be done but i just need to be sure.

second, will the microsoft mce keyboard work with windows xp pro?

yes to both your questions. Plugging in a new mouse will work, and in fact you will then have two active mice, the one you just plugged in and the one with the keyboard. Try it and you'll see.

To disable one of the mice, say the one with the keyboard, go to control panel > system > hardware > device manager, click on "mouse", right click on the keyboard mouse entry, and select diasble

Yes. Go into the setting for the MCE keyboard/mouse and disable the mouse. Plug in your normal mouse into the typical port, and shizzam...!
