becoz is spelt because
wid is spelt with
ma is spelt my
wat is spelt what
m8 is spelt mate

If she is a true mate, she would want you to follow your heart.
If you think there is a real chance of a future with this boy, then by all means approach him. But, you do have to ask yourself, who would you rather still have in 10 year - this boy, or your friend.

hey girl, if he likes you, n you like him, go for it, ive seen and had my mates ask me that, cos they're mates also fancy the same boy, etc.....
go for it, if your mate is a mate, she'll understand, there's more fish in the sea, just dont let you mate get in the way, you'll only regret it if she gets in there, and then if he dumps her for you, which may happen, thats when your friendship with her goes bang.

Well ask yourself which is more important to you.
I had this happen with two of my mates. They both liked the same guy, and one went out with him then they fell out over him.
Talk to your friend if you like this guy a lot.
