My parents have a very racist point of view....whites should not mix with blacks. They have said they are going to teach this to my kids, who are mixed with black and white. Every time I try to disagree with them on this issue (I am in love with a black man. I don't see his color, but his heart. he is a wonderful man.) they say that i am disrespecting them and that i am going to Hell for dating outside my race. I don't say it in a disrespecting way...they are the ones who get in my face and slap me when i do something they don't like, so how am i disrespecting them???

vyktor, i suggest that you keep those kind of coments to yourself...my butt is plenty big enough for him, honey, and contrary to popular belief, not every black man cheats...as a matter of fact, the only guys i've ever had cheat on me were white...what you got to say now, huh???

Thats a tough one. If you disagree with them does not mean you dont have respect for them.Unless you disagree in a disrespectful way.They have their age old beliefs and tried to raise you to have the same beliefs. You are grown now and have beliefs of your own and you want your kids raised with your beliefs.If you love a black man and he loves you, try to talk to your parents about how you feel. Tell them if they love you, they will respect your wishes and try to see this man for what he is. Hopefully they can give it a try. Good Luck

You arent, some people have that sorry point of view. If you do have kids with this man, try to keep them away from your parents because that can only hurt them. Just because you disagree with your parents doesn't mean that you are disrespecting them or doing anything wrong.

Your not disrespecting them and I personally would try to explain to them how you feel about them saying things to your children. I however would try to be as nice as possible because you will need them when he( your beloved blackman) cheats on you with a big butted fatter chick and leaves you. If you think this is a racist statement then i suggest you do a small poll in your local area. How many women (white or black) with a child do you see with a black man?

UGH that's HORRIBLE! Do what makes you happy and here is where you have to stand your ground. If you are over 18 and out of their house, it will no longer be up to them. If you are under 18 and are still being supported by them, unfortunately they will say that you are disrespecting them in their house. But if you love your man, stand by him because you will need to be a team to help support each other and look past your parents' racism. Best of luck to you!
