When I worked there, it was around 3min 30sec at 365 degrees. It could be different now.

Most of McDonalds equipment uses cooking calculators, i.e. machines connected to thermostats in the oil/cooking surface, which adjust the cooking time depending on the changing temperature. The approximate cooking time, if memory serves was about 5 minutes. I suspect the temp was about 375 deg F., but I am not at all sure about that. I know the holding time, after being cooked was 7 minutes.

As a previous Burger King manager, I recall the fries being cooked in hot vegetable oil (360 degrees?) for 2 minutes and 20 seconds. Then they are placed in a heater where they are eligible for sale for up to 7 minutes.

I worked at Mickey Dee's for almost 5 years and Jack is right. It is all automated too. Everything is, even the times for how long the burgers cook on the grill and how long your nuggets, fish, and chicken is fried.

Just long enough to turn perfectly innocent little potatoes into something resembling a miniature rail road tie. And nearly as good.!!
