Team loyalties always tend to cloud peoples judgements as to who is best. Ryan Miller is a good young goaltender with a pretty decent team in front of him. Cases can be made for Huet in Montreal, Ward in Carolina, Brodeur in Jersey to name a few. To answer your question is sorta pointless. Miller is good, Hasek, Brodeur are better. Kiprosoff is better. J.S.Giguere is right up there. There are a number of goalies that have claims to being the best. Cheer your choice on and you are always right...

Cory,
Ryan Miller is good and has proved that he has what it takes to be a legitimate goalie who will be around for a few years. However, the best goalie in the NHL is still quite a ways off.
He is the top 3 among goalies for wins, but he has an awesome team in front of him that helps him look good. IMHO, my pick would be Martin Brodeur.

As far as GAA (goals against average if you didn't know), Dominic Hasek is the best in the NHL right now. I believe his average GAA is a 1.82. As far as being incredible in net when his team needs it the most, I'll vote for Miller there. He always comes up with the enormous saves that Buffalo needs to continue winning hockey games. Still, he hasn't managed a single shutout yet this season. He has many seasons in front of him and plenty of time to rise up and become "the best". If Buffalo goes all the way this year, a lot of the reason for that will be Miller, and then maybe one could cautiously suggest he might be the best in the league. I love him and I love my Sabres, but I also remember when Hasek played in Buffalo, and Miller's not there yet!

He's good but not the best.
My picks are :
Martin Brodeur from the New Jersey Devil's ( he's number 1 in the league)
And
Cristobal Huet as number 2: from the Montreal Canadiens.

NO hes not even close of being in the top 10. he has a team that is scoring for him he let's in to many **** goals but still gets the win cause of the team. goalies that are winning games for there teams this year are Martin Brodeur (NJ), Roberto Luongo (VAN), Cristobal Huet (MTL), yes you can look at Hasek and Guigere but there only facing 20 shots a game and have a team in front of them that can score when needed. so no Ryan Miller is not the best hes OK but if you put him on a team like the Habs or even the Canucks he would not save this teams as Luongo and Huet are doing there way better then Miller.

He's good, he might even bet the best American goalie, but the best goalie is Marty Brodeur. He's one of the best of all time, let alone just the guys playing right now.

You could make a strong case for Miller considering he has the most vote for the all star game but looking at stats from carrier point you have hasek and Marty that still play and are amazing

He's a decent goalie on a team with great defense and just 20 shots a game. Just wait until he's on a lousy team with horrible defense, he'll suck.
