I have often wondered the same thing but as i see it it's because these people only do it to promote their own stuff like.......
It will do my restaurant good if some famous person is seen eating here or i would sell more dresses if some celeb is seen in one....And so on

I never understood that either. I've been to doctor conventions and theres tons of pens, FOOD, supplies., FREE.
But I can sort of undertsand when they give things to celebrities. even though most celebs DO NOT DESERVE to get things for free, they often use the things and get seen with the item in paparazzi photos which helps advertise it.
But who cares.. let the companies who keep giving free stuff go bankrupt. It shows them right.

Because they can get free advertising off the whores who wear there products.............that's the best money maker for them.
