I'm not a fan. It's honestly just a very emotional sub-genre of post-hardcore and that's just not my thing. It's not so much that the bands are emotional, because I don't have anything wrong with kind of showing that maybe there is some emotion existing in your heart, but the fact that they deliver it in such an annoyingly cloying fashion. A lot of popular music now is full of fluffy nothingness, sex, or empowerment... basically if you're not that you're either called "weird" or "emo." I like the weird music ;-)

Its fine if you guys hate it...but you do need to respect where those people come from and what they do. You may not agree with the war and the people that live there...but as people its our duty to respect other people.

Sometimes you dont see the whole picture. Honestly, I think emo or punk or whatever saves peoples lives and that is the best gift you could give someone. Hope and being accepted is a powerful thing. If you guys are out to destroy that, you guys are truly the evil ones.

But you opinion matters and is valid.

Nope. Sorry. Since nobody can agree on a definition for emo music, there's pretty much some "emo songs" that you can't hate, for the simple definition that you don't see them as emo. Other people, however, might.

I do.

Emo is the worst possible music to have seen daylight in the past century. It is worse than anything anyone could speak of. It is even worse than Celine Dion. And she's pretty much set the benchmark for terrible music.

Emo, and the scene it has created, needs to be sent back down to the deepest depths of hell, where it belongs, so all the whiny kids who cut themselves can understand real pain.

I don't hate emo music, but I do hate generalizing music and putting it into genres. Its going way to far.

you just haven't heard REAL emo. MCR, fall out boy, and panic! at the disco, are not emo. emo is a fashion, and REAL emo is "emotive hardcore" which is a sub genre of punk.

It's like RnB...a bunch of sad people who have to tell the whole world. I've never had a taste for this kind of music. how they feel. i cant believe that stuff is on the radio..that's why i stick to jazz music and old school hip-hop

I don't like to generalize and I think that there is some good music in all genres. In fact I went to see AFI and they had a pretty good concert. For the most part I prefer alternative and psychobilly.
