There is no officail register. You could possibly try to find out how many people receive higher rate mobility allowance, or lower rate for less severly disabled people but that wouldn't count people who are deaf, and blind people only receive lower rate mobility.
Under the Disability Discrimination Act there are very few disease or conditions that automatically count as a "disability". It depends more on how the condition affects the person on a day to day basis. People who have dyslexia are counted as having a disabilty so are you including them?
I think it would be virtually impossible to discover how many people class themselves as disabled because you aren't obliged to disclose disability to employers, educators etc.
