Wolverine first appeared in "The Incredible Hulk" issue 181.
He is pictured on the cover wearing yellow & blue.
Go onto Yahoo images & put in Hulk 181 for the image.

Yellow and blue with small "ears".. later replaced by the yellow/brown with large ears... then went back to the original colouring but keeping the large ears. As the guys have said, his first appearance was in the Hulk.

the first time he was in a comic his costume was yellow and blue and it was an issue of the hulk in Giant size X-men #1 when he made his debut in an x-men comic it was still yellow and blue he later switched to orange and brown and then back to his roots with a yellow and blue again

It was originally Yellow with blue stripes (like Michigan State's colors) but sometimes the stripes on the mask were black.

his costume sinnc alpha flight I was the blue and yellow tirger stripe look where they showed him to first chose and put on the suit of his own free will and it was also shown in the fiirst appearence of wolverine inthe hulk comic's.The Incredible Hulk #180-181
so it's that look, that came first.
