Sprint has better plans and service, while Verizon has better phones. I think Verizon is too expensive. So based on that I think Sprint is better. Though Im seriously considering getting MetroPCS anyway.

The best answer to your question is that NEITHER Sprint nor Verizon are best: They aren't based on the GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) standard. Your best bet is to go with either T-Mobile or Cingular. Alternatively, you could use one of the GSM-based Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) like RedPocketMobile.

Sprint and Verizon's EVDO data service was rolled out ahead of the GSM standard, but its real-world functionality is shaky, at best (in the San Francisco area). Download speeds are not better than a standard Cingular GSM plan with its' pre-3G network. Having tested all the network carriers at my work as a mobile devices engineer, I can say that Verizon is more reliable than Sprint, but if you want good uptime and ability to also have quality service in other states and countries, you need to choose Cingular. If you don't travel much from your own region and T-Mobile is good (eg: Los Angeles), then go with them (can still travel abroad and use your phone, UNLIKE WITH TDMA/CDMA phones like Sprint/Verizon!

I've had Sprint, Tmobile and now have Verizon. The customer service with Sprint was absolutely horrible and I would never go back to them. I had issues with my phone and they wouldn't allow me to upgrade even though it was broken. I ended up paying to get out of my contract since it was no use to me. Tmobile was slightly better with customer service but I had a lot of service issues with them. I was in college and all the students who lived in my apartment complex couldn't receive or make calls when we were home and that lasted for about a month. I switched to Verizon and have never been happier. Their customer service is wonderful and when I had a billing issue, the woman who helped me even called me the next month to let me know that she checked up on my bill and it was correct. I thought that was very considerate that she remembered to make sure I was taken care of. I recommend Verizon 100%.

Sprint has horrible customer service, the worst and they drop calls all the time. We have T-Mobile and LOVE IT! They have the BEST customer service and the best plans. Try T-Mobile, their new 5 favorites plan is a great one. You can talk to any of you 5 favorite people regardless of their phone service for free with this plan!

OH GOD please dont go with sprint!
My boyfriend and I just spent 3 months with having to deal with the higher ups over them double billing us. I get no service in ANY building, I practically have to hang upside down to get any "service bars." And their customer service hangs up on you no matter how polite you are.

I don't know about verizon but I definetly would not go sprint!
