I have got a Sony Vaio and it has not worked right for ages. I'm looking at a different make, but which do I choose?

I know it's kinda of a strange question, but I'm looking at what people think of different makes and models.

Lenovo thinkpads seem to hold up well(i had a frind drop one down a flight of stairs and it kept working). I have an apple macbook and it is amazing, though i would go for the macbook pro if you can afford it. If you get an apple spring for the apple care and your computer will keep working for a long time. Hope that helps.

I must say its all a matter of opinion, but from my experience with a number of computer manufacturers, I would say Dell are one of the best. Definitely not the cheapest though, but you do get a good reliable product, and excellent after sales service.

It's really a horse a piece. You might as well ask what kind of car is the best.

I've had Dell computers and have never had any major problems with them.

this is a interesting question,in my opinion i would go for evesham(http://www.evesham.com/default.asp?e=AA4C1709-AFD6-4D89-A9E3-3583CB6AA549) and mesh computers(http://www.meshcomputers.com/)
both manufacter entry level and power p.c,s and what i like about them is their warrantys, for example mesh do a warranty with 3 year on-site and 3 years collect and return, theres not many comapnys who will give you 6 years warranty
in reference to sony,i find they are very expensive and even for £1500 you wont get a top spec laptop, you are basically paying for the name
depending on your budget this is the p.c in my opinion is best p.c for under a grand
http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?PAGE=PRODUCTVIEWPAGE&USG=PRODUCT&ENT=PRODUCT&KEY=159039,you get dual graphics and a wad of memory, and some great specs
good luck
