Yes, rap sucks. But to say that "Rock, punk rock, scream emo are real music" is missing the point. It's still the same 12 notes... It's how you put them together is what makes it unique. Don't get hung up on musical stereotypes because you'll miss some REALLY good music!!! Open your ears and open your mind...

Don't look down on a genre of music just because the subject matter and lyrics are not to your liking. There is no right or wrong or "real" or "suck sooo BAD" in music. It's all art; interpret it as you will- you have your own taste, and so does everyone else.
I, for one, don't appreciate rap as much as I would because I dislike how superficial most of the subject matter is, and the fact that the rappers aren't really singing the lyrics. That doesn't make me think I'm superior to people who like rap, because I"m a rock fan. Rap fans might also dislike the subject matter/lyrics/vocals of rock. Please be open-minded about this... and have a great 2007.

Everyone has their preference...me personally, I gotta ask - what the hell is scream emo???? Does not sound like something I would even be remotely interested in. Punk rock...blah. I'd definitely take rap over that. I do like regular rock, hard rock, metal, etc. And rap, hip hop, pop, r&b. Even classical. I don't typicallly go around trashing one genre of music. I don't want people to get the impression I may be small minded. Although I will say that everything country sounds the same...all the songs sound the same...even sound the same as they did 10 years ago. No creativity involved there.

Rap sucks for the most part, but every now and then I hear something I like (like 1 song out of a few thousand!).
But open your mind, and you never know what you'll find that you like.
Rock, Country, Punk, Jazz, Blues, Classical, etc., etc....

The question is so stupid...
music is a form of art, and we need to appreciate art. I love all types of music: rap, rock, punk, country, classic, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Albanian, Spanish. jazz etc.. you get the point. The more types of music u kn, the more you get to find out about other people's cultures and so much can be learned. Even if u REALLY hate rap, just stay away from it, instead of letting your hate engulf you, and the others surrounding you....

I like rap. Infact i love music, with a meaning.. I don't to much think ROCK have a meaning orther than screming!!! y point is..... rock is junck to the ear.......

I'm not a fan of it, but thats just my preference. not everyone likes rock, screamo, punk like we do.
